In an effort to support vulnerable students and promote access to quality education, the YALI RLC EA Alumni Chapter of Rwanda, in partnership with Edified Generation Rwanda (EGR), donated school materials to 200 vulnerable students in Bugesera District on 11 Jan 2024. The donation consisted of notebooks and pens, and was made in accordance with the joint mission of EGR and YALI Rwanda Chapter to provide holistic education to children in need.
The activity was conducted in Bugesera District, Ntarama sector, Cyugaro Cell, and was facilitated by YALI RLC EA Rwanda Chapter volunteers and EGR staff and volunteers. The donations were received by students at GS Cyugaro and GS Ntarama. The selection of vulnerable children was done in collaboration with the local cell authority and the schools’ leadership.
At YALI Rwanda Chapter, we believe that having the necessary tools to access education is one of the key factors in unlocking the doors to the future and it’s our responsibility to enhancing education, so we prepare our future leaders to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
This donation is just one of the many initiatives by YALI Rwanda Chapter and EGR to support the community in promote quality education in Rwanda.
